Stages of Meditation
An Introduction to Meditation
2010 Class Schedule Below
“Equanimity in meditation is the mind being settled in a perfect state, dwelling in its innate realm and experiencing peace. ” Takpo Tashi Namgyal
This course looks into the reasons why meditation practice can be helpful in our daily lives. By learning and applying the techniques of meditation on tranquility in the course and at home, we will try to discover for ourselves why we would want to utilize this practice.
Once we know why something is helpful and how to utilize it, the rest is up to us.

Michael has been studying mindfulness meditation since 1991 and has been a student of the Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche since 2000. He is a graduate of the Nitartha Institute School of advanced Buddhist Studies and is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Nalandabodhi Canada, Ponlop Rinpoche’s Canadian Organization.
Instructor: Andrea McIntyre has just completed her 200 hour training through TAYS where she has been a long-time member. Andrea brings to yoga 8 years of tai chi teaching experience and over 20 years of meditation practice. She is keenly interested to integrate yoga, artistic expression and talk therapy because this is fun, health-enhancing, and natural; our life systems are integrated, even though our society segregates them conceptually. As childrens’ needs teach their parents to parent, so too the students’ needs teach the teacher to teach.
